Important safety information

This is not the full list. Your clinician reviews all risks with you, and the full prescribing information comes with your medication. Full safety information

  • Hormone therapy is not right for everyone. Your clinician reviews your personal and family history, including breast or uterine cancer, blood clots, stroke, heart disease and liver disease.
  • If you have a uterus, estrogen is prescribed together with a progestogen to protect the uterine lining.
  • Seek care right away for unusual vaginal bleeding, chest pain, leg swelling or sudden vision changes.
  • Testosterone cream can cause acne or unwanted hair growth. Keep treated skin covered so it does not pass to partners or children.
  • Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify their safety, effectiveness or quality.
Questions

Menopause, answered.

All questions

Usually not. Menopause is diagnosed from your symptoms and age. Your clinician may order labs if something does not fit the usual pattern, and when testosterone is part of your plan.

For most healthy women under 60, or within 10 years of their last period, the benefits often outweigh the risks. Your clinician walks you through your own risk and the options.

Yes. Perimenopause can start years before your last period, and treatment can help then too.

Our hormone creams are made by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies so the dose can be tailored to you. Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved, and every one is labeled that way.

Yes. Vaginal estradiol and PT-141 can help. See our sexual health care for women.
